Skepsis Group was founded in 2002 in Alba Iulia, Transylvania, Romania as a University theatre company.

In 2006 the group organized as an N.G.O with the mission of developing and extending the social, culturally and artistically life of the community. The group evolved by participating in intensive training sessions, developing its vision, experience and skills and now it is an independent theatre that unites proffesional and amator actors. 

Several long term parnerships were signed with the local institutions and organizations on developing the cultural life of the city – most notable is the 10 years Protocol of Collaboration with the Municipality signed in 2017. The group has a strong bound with the community, promoting the civic values, non-formal education and involvement of people in the community life. Viorel Cioflica, the Director of the company, is a proffesional certified trainer and runs the Skepsis Studio acting training program adressed to young students.

Over the years, Skepsis became one of the top  independent companies of Romania. The group has now a wide range of performances on different genres on its repertoire, from medieval farce and commedia dell arte, to classic, modern and absurd theatre. Original performances are created each year, as Skepsis theatre company represents Alba Iulia to national and international theatre festivals, acting as a cultural ambassador of the city.
